We always need more leaders. Leadership is not easy, and it should never be taken lightly. Being a leader in anything takes guts. Following is much simpler, but going out front, that is rare in any field. Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger — two who lead by example on the field, and that’s the key.

Rodgers reminds me so much of Bart Starr. Quiet, confident, ready to do whatever it takes when his time comes. Showing everyone the way. The perfect way to follow the tradition of Packer quarterbacks. Roethlisberger has shown he not only knows how to win on the field . . . he has done that. He has shown that he is able to overcome the issues off the field and still have the mental toughness to lead his team back to a chance at a title.

That is the key to being a successful leader. Being able to shake off all the distractions and find a way to win when and lead others when the chips are down, or when you are not feeling your best or even at your best in a game.

Which one would have fit the championship Packers? Hard to say. You can’t go wrong with either, and the Packer way adjusted to who we had. I know one thing. Their toughness on the field would have inspired everyone then, and that would have motivated all of us to be the best we could be.
