Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini confirmed Tuesday that the English Premier League club has agreed a fee for Edin Dzeko, one of the most sought-after young strikers in European soccer.
The Bosnian international has been a target for many of the continent’s biggest clubs after his goalscoring exploits for German outfit Wolfsburg.
The transfer fee is believed to be in the region of $42 million (£27million) but Mancini would not be drawn on the exact sum City had offered to secure the 24-year-old’s services.
The player is yet to agree personal terms.
“I can say that we have agreed with Wolfsburg,” Mancini told Sky Sports News. “I think that Dzeko is a good player. All the teams in Europe want him and everyone says he is a good player.
“We must wait. When Dzeko is a City player we will talk about him.”
