Manchester United got their Premier League campaign off to a winning start Monday with a 3-0 win over Newcastle at Old Trafford.

Dimitar Berbatov broke the deadlock after 33 minutes when he fired home Paul Scholes’ pass from inside the box.

Darren Fletcher added a second four minutes before the break when he turned inside the six-yard box to drive the ball past Steve Harper.

Ryan Giggs came off the bench to score the third with a fantastic volley with just five minutes to go to maintain his remarkable record of scoring in every Premier League season.

The Red Devils next face Fulham on Sunday.
