Cristiano Ronaldo celebrates

OK, so the top of the Premier League held form, as always. That didnât mean there wasnât plenty of excitement on the final day, with Manchester United winning a 10th title and Fulham with its five Americans ensuring another season in the top flight.
Man United got goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs in a 2-0 win over Wigan. And with Chelsea giving up a last-gasp equalizer, that meant Man Yoo won the EPL outright by two points, not even needing their goal differential. Now comes the May 21 rematch in Moscow for the Champions League crown, where Giggs will have a chance to break the club record for appearances he now shares with Sir Bobby Charlton at 758.
At the bottom end of the table, Fulhamerica got a goal from Danny Murphy and a clean sheet from American keeper Kasey Keller in a 1-0 victory over FA Cup finalist Portsmouth. American internationals Brian McBride and Clint Dempsey also started, with Eddie Johnson and Carlos Bocanegra not seeing any time.
And North Brunswick (NJ) native and ex-MetroStar keeper Tim Howard helped Everton to a 3-1 win over Newcastle, ensuring a UEFA Cup berth.
