John Thompson vs. Dr. Jack Ramsay
(Who is a better NBA analyst?)
When the 79-year-old Dr. Jack Ramsay, ESPN’s lead NBA radio analyst, ends his pregame spiel, he enthusiastically wraps up by saying, “That’s the poop from Dr. Jack’s Imodium A-D game plan”
Though Ramsay, a Hall of Famer, looks like a professor, he owns a wry personality. After dunks, he loves to exclaim, “The slammaaah!” Despite the fact he is about to become an octogenarian, his mind moves as briskly as a Nets’ fastbreak.
On TNT, John Thompson does provide some observations you may not have noticed. Still, The Matchup’s biggest problem with Thompson is the Sterling Sharpe Factor. When he coached, Thompson had little use for the media. Now he is part of the media.
In the end, Dr. Jack, who has a Master’s and a Doctorate in Education from Penn, has another certificate to hang in his office, a Matchup title.
