If you haven’t seen the SportsCenter segment “HearSay,” then – besides being lucky – this is what you’ve missed.

It is a ripoff of the board game “Taboo.” ESPN’s Stuart Scott and Rich Eisen each team with an athlete, offering up clues for 60 seconds. For each item, there are four off-limit clue words. Here’s a sample from us. We’ll give the clues, you guess.

“Stupid … Idea … They should shorten SportsCenter instead of showing this.”

“HearSay!”

You got it.

SportCenter’s “Hot Seat,” which has a beer sponsor in front of its on-air name, features rapid-fire questions from Mike Greenberg to athletes and celebrities.

This idea has its moments.

“HearSay” seems designed so ESPN can soon pedal a board game to viewers.

Let us suggest what the first card should read. Clue: “Matchup winner for worse idea.” Answer: “HearSay!”
