There were steroid-related developments on both coasts yesterday.

In San Francisco, the sentencing of admitted steroids dealer Kirk Radomski was delayed until Dec. 14. In New York, Angels outfielder Gary Matthews Jr. met with baseball officials to discuss allegations he received human growth hormone.

Radomski, the former Mets clubhouse attendant and Long Island resident, had his sentencing put off so he can continue assisting prosecutors and former Sen. George Mitchell in their investigations of steroid use in baseball.

As part of the plea deal he made in April, Radomski agreed to help the government and turn over names and documents identifying his baseball player customers to Mitchell. It is expected those names will be included in Mitchell’s report, which is expected to be released in the next two months.

Mitchell set a Saturday deadline for evidence in his probe, CBS News reported last night. Mitchell’s staff sent lawyers representing some players with ties to the BALCO investigation letters that notified them of the deadline.

Allegations surrounding Matthews surfaced in spring training. As part of the ongoing investigation being conducted by the Albany district attorney’s office into steroid sales on the Internet, Matthews was found to have received HGH in 2004.
