METROSTARS ADD 2
The MetroStars agreed to terms with Team Canada midfielder Adrian Serioux and his likely backup at defensive midfield, Elie Ikangu, a 19-year-old from France. Both are awaiting visa approval.
Serioux has appeared eight times for Canada since 2004 – most recently in a 0-0 draw against the U.S. on Jan. 22 – but will sit out tomorrow’s match at Austria with a broken toe. The 26-year-old withdrew from English Championship club Millwall to be closer to his ailing mother.
In other MetroStars news, No. 1 overall draftee Marvell Wynne flew to Munich yesterday, where he will be evaluated and have surgery to repair a sports hernia tomorrow.
