Jim Harbaugh and his staff have done everything right on the recruiting front since taking over at Michigan — everything except sending out letters to the correct recruits.

And it could cost them a four-star prospect.

Four-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon of Leesburg, Ga., verbally committed to Michigan in June, but he decommitted Monday after he received a letter from Michigan thanking him for attending a Wolverines barbecue.

The problem? Two-fold: He wasn’t at the BBQ, and his first and last name were spelled wrong in the letter.

“I do not know which recruit they were talking to, but it was not me,” he told 247sports.com in a story published Monday. “It was just a little heartbreaking, for me to supposedly be so high on their list, for them to confuse me with someone else. Plus they spelled both of my names wrong after I told them, but that was not the main issue. I guess they do not have tabs on me.”

Solomon hasn’t ruled out Michigan for good, and still plans to take an official visit to the Big Ten school, granted there are no more letter snafus.
