MLS and the Players Union agreed today to keep negotiating through February 25, as they work towards reaching a new collective bargaining agreement.

Negotiations scheduled for this week were postponed due to the snow storms along the Northeast Corridor. Negotiations will continue over the next two weeks.

Various reports have claimed the sides have at least reached agreements on guarantees for veterans and an increase in the $2.3 million salary cap, of between 13 percent (to $2.6 million) and 17 percent ($2.7 million). Free agency is still a sticking point.
