MLS announced its season openers for 2010. The campaign kicks off Thursday, March 25 when Seattle hosts expansion Philadelphia Union’s debut league tilt (9:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2 / ESPN Deportes).

It makes perfect sense, this year’s debutante and biggest fan base welcoming next year’s expansion club. Qwest Field will be packed, and make for great nationally-televised theater. They averaged over 30,000 this season, and are sure to pack the place next March.

For you long suffering locals, after all the 60-90 day jokes, you finally get your stadium. Red Bull Arena opens two days later with the Red Bulls hosting the Chicago Fire (March 27, 7 p.m. ET, ESPN2/ESPN Deportes). Again, that’s a heated rivalry _ although presumably less so now that coach Juan Carlos Osorio is gone _ and should make for good TV.
