MO, YANKS SET TO TALK
TAMPA – Mariano Rivera’s agent, Fernando Cuza, will meet face to face with GM Brian Cashman today at Legends Field.
“He is stopping by to talk, but there hasn’t been a proposal made,” Cashman said.
Rivera, the Yankees’ all-time saves leader, can become a free agent after the season, but wants to stay a Yankee and retire in pinstripes. Last week he said he was looking to play three years after this one and quit at 37.
Rivera, who made $10.5 million last year, could command $12 to $13 million a year.
