Should Wayne Gretzky retire Sunday, these are the local TV options:

1) Fox-Ch. 5, with exclusive NHL rights for Sunday afternoon, has given the entire Penguins-Rangers broadcast rights, including pregame retirement ceremonies, to MSG Network, so that Ch. 5 can air the Yanks-Tigers game.

When the Gretzky retirement ceremonies begin, shortly before 3 p.m., Ch. 5 will split screen the Yanks and Rangers, with the audio being devoted to Gretzky’s farewell. The Yankee game will appear in full after the retirement ceremonies, then the balance of the Ranger game will be seen on Ch. 5 at the conclusion of the Yankee game.

2) Fox and Ch. 5 might choose to simply pick up the balance of the Ranger game following the Yankee game, with no coverage of the Gretzky ceremonies.
