Talk about grabbing life by the handlebars.

As Australian cyclist Loren Rowney was making her way towards the finish of the Molecaten Dretse 8 in The Netherlands, a spectator thought it was a wise decision to extend a hand as the cyclist whizzed by.

Rowney, 26, was looking to make a pass on the inside of the race leader until the spectator’s hand made contact with her bike, causing her to flip forward over the handlebars.

Eventually, Rowney crawled past the finish line to finish in seventh. She lied motionless as other cyclists passed by.

She was taken off the track and received medical attention. The initial prognosis is Rowney suffered a broken collarbone.
