NETS: NODEALS ON HORIZON
NET NOTES
MILWAUKEE – The Nets figure to be done dealing. Finally.
At least for now.
There is a whole off-season approaching when the Nets likely will be active.
But for now – having acquired Vince Carter, Cliff Robinson and Elden Campbell in the past two-plus months – the Nets appear set to let today’s 3 p.m. trading deadline come and go without any need to get in the transactions table.
“Not a thing,” team president Rod Thorn said about Nets activity. “We’re not actively looking to do anything and I haven’t been getting any [serious] phone calls.”
One trade area where Thorn is certain involves Jason Kidd. The point guard has been cranky lately. He’s unhappy about extended playing time, reportedly wanting to go to Minnesota, ripping the team’s shoddy play Tuesday. Maybe it’s Kidd trying to buy a ticket out of New Jersey, but Thorn repeatedly has said he has no intentions of trading him and that stance has not changed.

Nets still without Nenad Krstic (viral infection) and Rodney Buford (ankle). Both possible tomorrow against Bobcats.
Milwaukee’s Michael Redd, headed for unrestricted free agency, is a prized target and the subject of numerous trade rumors, but the Bucks desperately want to keep him.
“Our intentions are the same, to re-sign him this summer,” GM Larry Harris said. And Redd wants to stay.
“I want to retire a Buck. This organization took a chance on me five years ago, drafting me on the second round,” Redd said.
An internet gambling site had the Nets at 75-1 to win the title when the season started. They’ve been downgraded to 140-1.
