Here’s Lenn Robbins’ analysis of the first round of today’s NFL Draft.

1. DOLPHINS, Jake Long, OT, Michigan – Bill Parcells couldn’t find a trade partner so he gets an OL anchor.

2. RAMS, Chris Long, DE/OLB, Virginia – His personal trainers say Long has just begun to tap his potential.

3. FALCONS, Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College – Atlanta gets a new QB and a new face for its gone-to-the-dogs franchise.

4. RAIDERS, Darren McFadden, RB, Arkansas – You knew Al Davis couldn’t resist, even if he has four backs on the roster.

5. CHIEFS, Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU – Herm Edwards gets a gift; KC didn’t think Dorsey would still be on the board.

6. JETS, Vernon Gholston, DE/OLB, Ohio State – New game plan: Gholston, Calvin Pace meet at the quarterback.

7. SAINTS (from Patriots), Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC – New Orleans, 19th in total defense, gets a cinderblock.

8. JAGUARS (from Ravens), Derrick Harvey, DE, Florida – Coach Jack Del Rio loves to get heat on the QB.

9. BENGALS, Keith Rivers, OLB, USC – Tigers with no teeth. Cincinnati was dead last in total defense.

10. PATRIOTS, Jarod Mayo, LB, Tennessee – Not even Tedy Bruschi and Mike Vrabel can play forever.

11. BILLS, Leodis McKelvin, CB, Troy – Buffalo, 29th in pass defense, never replaced Nate Clements.

12. BRONCOS, Ryan Claddy, OT, Boise State – Once the league standard, Denver’s OL needs to be rebuilt.

13. PANTHERS, Jonathan Stewart, RB, Oregon – In the era of two backs, Carolina now has DeAngelo Williams and Stewart.

14. BEARS, Chris Williams, OT, Vanderbilt – Instead of another RB bust, Chicago knows it must be able to block the Vikings.

15. CHIEFS (from Lions), Branden Albert, OG, Virginia – Herm Edwards gets big-time help on both lines.

16. CARDINALS, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB, Tennessee State – One day Arizona will have a decent defense.

17. LIONS (from Chiefs), Goster Cherilus, OT, Boston College – All Hail Matt Millen for not reaching for another wide receiver.

18. RAVENS (from Texans), Joe Flacco, QB, Delaware – Steve McNair retired, Kyle Boller is Kyle Boller, and Troy Smith is 6-feet tall.

19. PANTHERS (from Eagles), Jeff Otah, OT, Pittsburgh – John Fox knows Jake Delhomme and Steve Smith need a running game.

20. BUCCANEERS, Aqib Talib, CB, Kansas – Ronde Barber is 32 and Brian Kelly left via free agency.

21. FALCONS (from Redskins), Sam Baker, OT, USC – Falcons believe they got their QB; now they must protect him.

22. COWBOYS (from Cleveland), Felix Jones, RB, Arkansas – In the game against South Carolina, McFadden ran for 322, Jones got 170.

23. STEELERS, Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Illinois – Call them the Stealers; Pittsburgh gets a complementary back for Willie Parker.

24. TITANS, Chris Johnson, RB, East Carolina – Was this the first reach of the first round with Jamaal Charles, Ray Rice available?

25. COWBOYS (from Seahawks), Michael Jenkins, CB, South Florida – Proves they can’t count on Pacman Jones.

26. TEXANS (from Ravens), Duane Brown, OT, Virginia Tech – Houston always had a problem protecting its QB. Ask David Carr.

27. CHARGERS, Antoine Cason, CB, Arizona – Teams with Antonio Cromartie and Quentin Jammer for a lockdown secondary.

28. SEAHAWKS (from Cowboys) – Lawrence Jackson, DE, USC – Watch him develop behind Patrick Kerney and Darryl Tapp.

29. 49ERS, Kentwan Balmer, DT, North Carolina – San Fran is 22nd in rushing defense; ugh.

30. JETS (from Packers), Dustin Keller, TE, Purdue – Similar to Indy’s Dallas Clark, who was first-round pick in 2003.

31. GIANTS, Kenny Phillips, FS, Miami – Still Super! Big Blue gets latest in long line of great Hurricanes defensive backs.
