This year is no different — if you don’t believe us, check out all the names we gathered for this week’s poll, asking who is the city’s top lead guard.

What, exactly, is a lead guard, you ask? It doesn’t necessarily have to be a true point guard, but a guard who leads his team, who makes plays for himself and others, who scores in the clutch and sets up others.

There are veterans, like Christ the King’s Omar Calhoun and Xaverian’s Dillon Burns, hot-shot youngsters like Lincoln’s Isaiah Whitehead, Archbishop Molloy’s C.J. Davis and Bishop Loughlin’s Khadeen Carrington, and breakout stars such as Thomas Jefferson’s Jaquan Lynch and Wings Academy’s Justin Jenkins to choose from.
