O’HARA OUT OF HOSPITAL
GIANT NOTES
After spending five days laid up at the Hospital for Special Surgery with an infection in his leg, Giants center Shaun O’Hara was released from the hospital yesterday. He will participate in the team meetings today at Giants Stadium and will continue to receive treatment for his condition, which has been diagnosed as cellulitis.
Coach Tom Coughlin said on Monday that O’Hara’s appetite did return and the hope is that O’Hara did not lose much weight or strength. His availability for Sunday’s game against the Bears is unlikely. Wayne Lucier, a second-year offensive lineman, started in place of O’Hara in last week’s 34-13 victory over the Vikings and won praise from Coughlin.
* LB Barrett Green, who injured his left knee and ankle on the first play in Minneapolis, underwent an MRI on Monday and the exam confirmed a sprain to his knee. He’s also unlikely to play, meaning Nick Greisen gets another start at weak-side linebacker.
