Pat Burns, who is thought to be on Mike Milbury’s short list to coach the Islanders next season, is craving the chance to coach next season, Burns’ agent and cousin told The Post yesterday.

“Mike hasn’t called us,” Robin Burns said from his Montreal office. But “[Pat] would love to get back into coaching.”

A three-time NHL Coach of the Year, Burns, 48, was fired early this season in what was his fourth year with the Bruins.

Burns, an 11-year NHL coach who is making $975,000 this season, was on a motorcycle trip in Florida yesterday and unavailable for comment.
