MICHIGAN at NOTRE DAME 3:30; Ch.4 Line: N.D. by 6.
Angle: This game proved to be pivotal last season. Notre Dame went on to a 9-3 rebirth; Michigan stumbled to five losses. The Wolverines (2-0) have not looked like the Big Ten power of old. The Notre Dame (2-0) defense remains vulnerable.
Eyes on: Michigan RB Mike Hart; ND WR Rhema McKnight.
PREDICTION: Notre Dame 34, Michigan 31.
LSU at AUBURN 3:30; Ch.2 Line: Auburn by 31/2.
Angle: Let the SEC playoffs begin. Speed galore between the hedges. Auburn (2-0) has won 17 of its last 18 league games, an amazing run considering the toughness of the league.
LSU (2-0) still must play at Tennessee and Florida.
Eyes on: LSU S LaRon Landry; Auburn RB Kenny Irons.
PREDICTION: Auburn 20, LSU 14.
MIAMI at LOUISVILLE 3:30; Ch.7 Line: Louisville by 4½ Angle: There are 24 players from Florida on the Louisville roster; this is a Super Bowl for almost every one of them. The stakes couldn’t be higher. Miami (1-1) must win to regain its swagger. Louisville (2-0) must prove it can beat an elite program.
Eyes on: Miami RB Tyrone Moss; Louisville QB Brian Brohm.
PREDICTION: Louisville 27, Miami 21.
CLEMSON at FLORIDA STATE 7:45; ESPN Line: FSU by 4½ Angle: The Tigers (1-1) are reeling from a double-OT loss at BC. The Seminoles (2-0) almost got dusted at home by Troy. FSU has been unable to produce a running game, but Clemson has lost three defensive starters.
Eyes on: Clemson RB James Davis; FSU LB Buster Davis.
PREDICTION: FSU 22, Clemson 16.
NEBRASKA at USC 8:00; Ch.7 Line: USC by 19.
