PLAYERS BACK ISIAH
KNICK NOTES
The players and coaches were in full support of Isiah Thomas yesterday after he was smacked with a sexual harassment suit by their former marketing director.
“That’s not Isiah. That’s not true,” said Knicks assistant Mark Aguirre, Isiah’s childhood friend. “That’s not even close. That’s crazy.”
Before the Knicks’ morning shootaround, Isiah Thomas addressed the team. It was not a rah-rah speech, just informational, raising the possibility of players being asked to give depositions.
“He just told us what was going on,” one Knick player said.
“There’s been a lot [of distractions],” Larry Brown said. “But I’m a basketball coach and we’re a team and we have to focus about playing basketball. When things are out of whack, the best thing you can do is be with the team and be involved in games. I’ve known him since I tried to recruit him in high school and he’s a phenomenal human being.”
“We just got to focus on basketball,” said rookie Nate Robinson. “A lot of distractions in life. This one just crept on us.”

The Post has learned Knicks brass is discussing sending center Jackie Butler, 20, to their Fayetteville, N.C., Developmental League affiliate. The new collective bargaining agreement allows teams to send first- or second-year players to the new minor league. Butler has been inactive 10 straight games and 14 of 16.
Brown said Antonio Davis will rejoin the club in Philly on Saturday before the Knicks fly for Monday’s game in Atlanta. Davis’ five-game suspension makes him eligible to return Monday. He had been able to practice with the team but decided instead to spend time with his family in Chicago.
While Isiah made inquiries into Ron Artest, Isiah didn’t show strong interest, as he told Pacers GM Donnie Walsh he didn’t want to trade any of his youngsters, including his three first-round picks.
