LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Trainer Mark Casse is aiming Pool Play for this fall’s $5 million Breeders’ Cup at Churchill Downs, but plans to take the horse to Saratoga for more training and possibly another race before then.

Casse said he’s likely to take the 6-year-old Pool Play to Saratoga to continue practicing on dirt, then consider the Whitney on Aug. 6. Ultimately, Casse said, the goal is to return to Louisville for the Breeders’ Cup.

Pool Play won Saturday’s Stephen Foster Handicap as a 36-1 shot.
