The Power’s WUSA season mercifully comes to an end today when they face the playoff-bound Washington Freedom (10-5-5) at Mitchel Field (7 p.m., MSG).

After qualifying for the postseason last year, the Power (3-16-1) had high expectations for this season, but didn’t live up to them. Forward Tiffeny Milbrett is looking forward to the break.

“It’s a relief. This has been a frustrating, long season,” Milbrett said. “We need to recover. We need some rest and relaxation.”

Milbrett deserves a break, as do her teammates. But management won’t have any time to get away.

“We need some more players,” Milbrett said. “I think we need three dominant players to turn things around next year. A strong defender, a midfielder that has playmaking abilities and another big-time scorer.”
