Dickinson College-bound Joey Martinez went the distance, striking out nine and allowing just one hit as Berkeley Carroll blanked Long Island Lutheran, 9-0, in the ACIS/PSAA Alliance Monday afternoon. Rob Paller added four hits and scored three runs, Martinez and Anthony Spina each drove in three runs and Dan Schwartz had three of the Lions’ 15 hits. Berkeley Carroll is now 7-0 in league and 7-4 overall.
Poly Prep 7, Horace Mann 1: Morgan Grey allowed one unearned run in six innings and struck out seven and Marley Randazzo and Joe Calabrese each had two hits for Poly Prep in the Ivy Prep League. The Blue Devils are now 12-1 overall and 8-0 in league while Horace Mann fell to 5-4 and 3-4, respectively.
Dalton 15, St. Ann’s 3: Adam Dunn fanned four, allowed one earned run in six innings pitched and doubled three times, J.D. Askin added three hits and four RBIs and Cal Barnett tallied two hits and two RBIs for Dalton (4-6) in non league.
Packer Collegiate 6, Trevor Day 3: Henry Butler allowed three hits and two earned runs in a complete-game effort, Nick Morton walked twice and drove in two runs and Butler also scored twice and notched two hits for Packer Collegiate (7-5, 4-4) in the ACIS/PSAA Alliance.
Packer Collegiate 6, Long Island Lutheran 5 (Eight Innings): Harry Rossman threw eight strong innings and fanned three, Nick Morton had two hits and two RBIs and Mikey Savino tallied three hits and scored two runs for Packer Collegiate on Saturday in the opener of a doubleheader. LuHi won the second game, 8-6, behind two RBIs from Eric Hessel and three hits and three runs scored from Cameron Scott.
