The Providence Friars kept their fading at-large bid hopes alive last night with their 81-66 thumping of Connecticut last night.

Thanks to 23 points and 14 rebounds from Jamine Peterson, the Friars (12-8, 4-4 Big East) still have a shot at making it to March Madness.

However, if you go and look at their remaining schedule, it’s going to be awfully hard for the Friars to find their way into the tournament. After they just missed out last season, they likely will do so again this year, especially after losing to South Florida at home last week.

Here is a look at Providence’s NCAA Tournament profile:

Record: 12-8 (4-4 Big East)

Key wins: @St. John’s, Connecticut

Key losses: @Marquette, Louisville, @Notre Dame, South Florida, Iona, Boston College, @Alabama, @Rhode Island

Key stat: Of their eight losses, only one (URI) came against a team currently in Joe Lunardi’s Field of 65.
