Joe Abadia had two hits, two RBIs and scored a run, Chris Vasquez had two hits and scored twice and Fitzpatrick chipped in two hits and an RBI for the Knights, who broke the game open with six runs in the sixth. Brooklyn Tech is 0-3.

Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy 13, Gompers 2: Nathan Heller had two hits, scored twice and drove in two runs, Jason Araujo scored twice and drove in a run and Javier Rossi went five innings for the win as Riverdale/Kingsbridge (2-2) in Bronx A West. Gompers is 0-4.

William Bryant 5, Newtown 1: Darlyn Valdez struck out five in 5 2/3 innings pitched for the win and Charlie Moronta and John Diakogeorgios scored a run and drove in another for Bryant (1-0) in its Queens A West opener. Newtown falls to 0-3.

Forest Hills 5, Aviation 3: Daniel Spilke had two hits and an RBI, Justin Ramos added two hits and a run scored and Brian Scileppi struck out eight in seven solid innings of work for Forest Hills (3-0) in Queens A East. Aviation is 2-1.

Midwood 6, Bushwick Leaders 4: Daniel Kaye went the distance, striking out seven and allowing five hits and Brandon Eng and Jonathan Gonzalez added two RBIs apiece and Michael McCann scored twice for Midwood (2-0) in Brooklyn A East. Bushwick Leaders is 0-4.

FDR 7, Lincoln 1: Henry Dominguez had two hits, scored two runs and drove in another run and Hector Martinez Jr. homered and added two RBIs for FDR (3-1), which plated five first-inning runs, in Brooklyn A West. Lincoln is now 0-4.

New Utrecht 3, Telecommunications 0: Chris Hodgens went the distance, allowing five hits and striking out six for his second win, he also scored a run and Nunzio DiMaggio and Danny Henriquez each drove in a run for New Utrecht (3-1) in Brooklyn A West. Telecom is 2-2.

CLASS B

Washington Irving 18, East Side Community 1: Lutty Santiago (three runs scored), Kevin Dominguez and Engel Nunez had two RBIs apiece and Willie Rodriguez scored twice for Washington Irving (3-0), which put up six runs apiece in the second and third innings, in Manhattan B South. East Side Community is 0-3.

Bayard Rustin 10, Art & Design 0: Alisandy Diaz fanned nine in a two-hit shutout over five innings, Carlos Baldera had three RBIs and Erik Cruz scored twice for Bayard Rustin (3-0) in Manhattan B North. Art & Design is 0-3.

John Bowne 5, Hillcrest 1: Anthony Delarosa whiffed 10 in six one-hit innings of shutout ball, he also had three hits, two runs scored and an RBI and Jordy Acosta notched three hits and an RBI for Bowne (2-1) in Queens B North. Hillcrest is 2-1 in Queens B Central.

Prospect Heights 10, Boys & Girls 4: Manuel De Ventura Rodriguez homered and drove in three runs, Brandon Williams scored three times and Walfi Regalado fanned 13 in a complete-game effort for Prospect Heights (2-2) in Brooklyn B Central. Ivan Morales had two hits and two RBIs for Boys & Girls (0-5).

Robert F. Wagner Jr. 13, Frank Sinatra 3: Tim Jacquez had four hits, stole home and scored two other times and had three RBIs, Steven Dominguez also scored three times and Gavin Diaz struck out nine in 4 2/3 while striking out nine for Robert F. Wagner (2-3) in Queens B Central. Sinatra is 0-5 in Queens B North.
