The Mets have not been very successful since Willie Randolph was fired in the middle of a June night two years ago.
Even though the firing “stung a lot when it first happened,” Randolph told ESPN 1050 Radio. “I don’t get any real big satisfaction from [the Mets woes.]”
After Randolph was let go on the West Coast, the Mets under Jerry Manuel fell apart again in September before last season’s 70-92 disaster.
Randolph, now Brewers bench coach, told “The Michael Kay Show” he would like to manage again.
“No doubt,” Randolph said. “That’s why I’m here. I have an opportunity here with Milwaukee. They are a fine organization.
“That’s really why I wanted to come back. I didn’t want it to end the way it did. I felt like I have some unfinished business.”
