Reaching again into their crop of collegiate prospects, the Rangers yesterday signed Jake Taylor from the University of Minnesota.

The 6-4, 220-pound defenseman played 39 games as a freshman for the Golden Gophers last season. A Minnesota native, Taylor, 21, was the Rangers’ sixth-round pick in 2002.
