The slumping last-place Red Bulls will have midfielder Jorge Rojas available for tomorrow’s game at D.C. United. That should at least help offset Mac Kandji’s left hamstring woes a bit, with the 23-year-old revelation questionable and unlikely to make the trip.

Rojas has been called up to international duty with Venezuela, for whom he has served as captain in the past, and was expected to miss both Thursday’s game and Sunday’s tilt at New England.

But Venezuela’s players have already been training in Ecuador to acclimate themselves to the conditions, so Rojas will play with the Red Bulls at RFK and then leave Friday to join up with his Venezuelan teammates.

Since struggling left-back Alfredo Pacheco has been caled up by El Salvador _ despite being off his game _ versatile Danleigh Borman has to play left-back. Now they can slot Rojas in at left wing. They’ll need all the attacking help they can get, since Kandji hurt his hamstring on Saturday and is unlikely to travel.

He’s seeing a doctor today to get a scan on his hamstring and some added treatment. The club is holding out hope that he can play against United, but I’m thinking in a best-case scenario they get Rojas tomorrow and MAYBE Kandji on Sunday in New England.

Think Rojas can help? Think the Pacheco call-up is addition by subtraction? Rather see Borman in there anyway? Figure they can mount any attack at all without Kandji? Share your thoughts below…
