WASHINGTON — Chris Pontius scored his first career hat trick to lead D.C. United to a 4-1 victory over the Red Bulls last night.

With the victory, United moved past the Red Bulls into second place in the MLS Eastern Conference.

Thierry Henry scored a late consolation goal for the Red Bulls (3-3-1).
