ESPN is reporting that “Brett Favre consulted renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews regarding options for healing the partially torn biceps tendon in his throwing shoulder this week, according to a source.”
It’s an indicator that Favre is at least considering returning to the NFL, possibly to play for the Vikings.
When Favre retired from the Jets in February, he revealed he had a torn biceps tendon in his right, throwing arem that would require surgery.
ESPN reports, “The source said Andrews and Favre experimented with one of several exercises that could accelerate the process of the tendon releasing on its own.”
That would allow him to move on without surgery.
Favre’s agent, Bus Cook, has not returned repeated phone calls from The Associated Press. Cook has insisted in interviews this month that Favre, for now, remains retired.
Vikings officials were unavailable for comment Friday.
