New Rutgers basketball coach Mike Rice will name Georgetown’s David Cox to be his top assistant, NJ.com reports.

The report says Cox, a Hoyas assistant under John Thompson III for the past two seasons, brings recruiting contacts in the Washington area.

Rice and Cox previously worked together for Jamie Dixon at Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh assistant Brandin Knight, a former New Jersey high school star at Seton Hall Prep, earlier turned down the job.
