Daryll Hill watch – Day 18.

St. John’s goes into tonight’s game at the Garden (7 p.m., MSG, ESPN: 1050 AM) against Georgetown still uncertain when, if, its star guard will return to the lineup. But it won’t be against the Hoyas, which means the Red Storm (7-6, 0-1 Big East) will be hard-pressed to post their first conference win of the season.

Hill said yesterday he has yet to practice since playing in the 70-57 loss at Duke on Dec. 21 because of a cartilage injury in his left knee. As the days go by, Hill’s frustration level mounts.

“Obviously, I want to play,” he said. “I’m just taking it slow. Hopefully I can get out there soon and help the team.”

Georgetown (9-2, 1-0) has won six straight with its only losses at Illinois and against Vanderbilt.

Coach Norm Roberts said there’s no timetable for Hill’s return, which he said won’t come until Hill makes it through a couple of practices without setbacks.
