RJ’S BOUNCING BACK
NET NOTES
Matched up against rookie Adam Morrison, Richard Jefferson broke out of his slump with a season-high 27 points in the Nets’ 96-92 loss to Charlotte last night.
Jefferson, who missed five games earlier this month with an ankle injury, hit 8-for-16 from the floor and 11-of-14 from the stripe. That bodes well after seeing him average just 11.3 ppg and muster a total of 10 foul shots in the Nets’ winless road trip.
“Because of my injury, I haven’t really been out there as much as I’d like. [Last night] was just a matter of getting out on the floor. The more I get on the court, the more comfortable I’ll be,” Jefferson said. “I played a solid game, nothing crazy, but I still struggled. I’m to blame as much as anyone.”

Last night’s defeat marked the Nets’ first six-game skid since they lost nine straight from Nov. 10-28, 2004.
Nenad Krstic (20) hit the 20-point mark for the sixth time already this season, after having done it just 15 times coming into the season.

Guard Eddie House (knee) did more rehab work yesterday, had a second workout last night – cutting, shooting – and Lawrence Frank said he hopes the sharp-shooter can return to full practice Friday.
“There’s a chance,” Frank said. “Hopefully. That’s what we’re hoping for.”
Even more important might be the debut of forward Josh Boone (left shoulder). The 6-10, 245-pound rookie dressed for just his second game last night, and even though they have no timetable, the club is anxious to see exactly what they have.
After Amare Stoudemire (25 points, 10 rebounds) and Kwame Brown (13, 9, 5-of-6 shooting) roughed them up, the Nets saw backup Sean May score a career-high 20 last night. But the Nets may hold off making any moves to see how much Boone can contribute.

Frank was non-committal about getting more playing time for rookie Hassan Adams, who was a DNP on the first two games of the trip, then had eight points and four boards – 4-for-4 from the floor – at Phoenix, and hit his only shot in four minutes against the Lakers. He played just one second last night.
