TAMPA — When the Yankees and Roger Clemens were working on signing the Hall of Fame pitcher to his pro-rated $28 million contract, Clemens was visiting the home of one of his sisters in Texas. He was there to watch his nephew Nick play baseball.

Yankee prospect Joba Chamberlain, 21, has been impressed by not only Clemens’ teaching of the game here at the Yankees player development center, but how much he loves the game. “You can tell he wants to succeed and he wants us to succeed,’’ Chamberlain told me. “He just loves the game.’’
