Multiple sources have indicated that ex-Rutgers standout Dilly Duka is expected to sign a Generation adidas contract with MLS. The midfielder left the Scarlet Knight program to compete with the U.S. in the Under-20 World Cup, and now appears on the verge of starting his professional career.

Duka is a Red Bull academy product, and the club had attempted to sign him earlier this season, but were denied by MLS because he hadn’t met homegrown status _ two years and 100 practice hours _ by the time he enrolled at Rutgers.

According to both the Red Bulls and the league, there has been no change in that policy _ one that MLS commissioner Don Garber acknowledged had outlived its usefulness.

The team has the No. 2 overall pick in January’s draft behind expansion Philadelphia, and another first-round pick acquired from Houston for Dominic Oduro. Would you want to see them use the No. 2 pick on Duka, or an Ike Opara or Corben Bone, if either Wake Forest star signs with MLS? Do you think Duka will be around with their latter first-round pick, or No. 2 pick in the second round?
