New York City OTB today will begin taking bets on races from Santa Anita for the first time this year.

N.Y. State Racing and Wagering Board chairman Michael Hoblock approved the deal between OTB and the southern California track yesterday evening. The current Santa Anita meet ends in April, but the agreement allows OTB also to simulcast the track’s Oak Tree meeting next fall.

OTB has yet to begin negotiations to simulcast races from Hollywood Park, which opens when Santa Anita closes.
