Sounders striker Fredy Montero _ arguably the best young player in MLS _ says he’s been in contact with Fulham, and is interested in moving on to the Premier League side Fulham. Well, you knew the 21-year-old Colombian National Team star was only on a stopever in Seattle, but that was quick.
“I have been in touch with officials of Fulham since six months ago and now that they have got in touch with me again I find the idea of playing at their team in the next season interesting,” Montero told Skysports. “I haven’t spoken about this situation with the officials of Seattle yet, but I suppose that once they receive a proposal there will not be any problem. Because I am interested in this chance they will not bring me any problem.” C’mon, guys. You can’t tell me you’re surprised. Y’all knew this MLS thing was just a little layover, like at an airport. You knew it when they somehow managed to get him on loan, and you really knew it after he put this on the Red Bulls in the opener.
Young buck hasn’t really let up since.
He’s on loan at Seattle from Deportivo Cali, and sources have told me he’s making some decent coin, far more than the Red Bulls could’ve paid him. Do you like Fulham for a next stop for Montero? Talk to us…
