A: First you realize there is a God, and childbirth is a miracle. And second, you know what your true focus is.

A: I am.

A: All the necessities are around him before you start changing. And you have to make sure the fit of the diaper is correct because you don’t want any leakage.

A: The night before the 2000 draft at Norris Lake, Tennessee, we walked down by the lake and I told her I wanted to show her something at the marina.

A: I believe in loyalty. So if I can retire a Jet, that’s a feat that not a lot of players can say that they have done, played in one place their whole career.

A: A man of integrity, character and a man of his word.
Q: What would you say to New York about Paul Hackett?
A: You won’t find a more passionate, energetic, enthusiastic football coach that loves the game, loves to coach and wants to win.
Q: What would you say to those same New Yorkers who moan that the offense is too predictable under his watch?
A: Dead wrong. In 2002 we weren’t too predictable. 2003 was based upon circumstances. You can only control what you can control.
Q: What would people be surprised to learn about you?
A: I’m not caught up in quarterback celebrity status. I like the simple things.
Q: What would you tell Jet fans about this year’s team?
A: They’ll see a more energetic, enthusiastic, passionate team. A young team that may make mistakes because of youth. A team that will get better and better week by week.

A: This team has the ability to change the history of this organization. This is the beginning of a new era in this organization.
Q: The most mischievous thing you did as a kid.
A: Throwing egg and water balloons at oncoming cars.

A: No, but I got chased a few times.

A: In 2002, when Jason Fabini headbutted me and knocked me over and I had to call timeout ’cause I couldn’t get the play called (laugh).

A: Find ways to allow veterans to be part of the game and not be cut or released because of the salary cap.
Q: Why is that important to you?
A: True football uphold the integrity of the game, uphold the history of the game. And they show the younger players what this league is all about.

A: Curtis Martin. He understands what it takes to be a true professional. A lot of guys don’t, even the superstars.

A: The most inspirational athlete is Lance Armstrong.
