Americans think that the US’s success at the World Cup in South Africa will lead to more people watching the sport in this country, according to a new poll.

A survey by kgb 542542 text answer service — http://www.kgb.com — asked, “Will soccer become popular in the US as a result of America’s success at the World Cup?

A staggering 68 percent said, “Yes it’ll kick-start the sport.”

But there are doubters. Thirty-two percent said, “No it’ll never take off in America.”

In another poll, 41 percent of American adults who have been following the World Cup think it’s somewhat likely the US will win the World Cup title and eight percent who say it’s very likely, according to a Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

The US takes on Ghana on Saturday in the knockout phase. Should the US win and advance, they would go on to play the winner of the Uruguay-South Korea game.
