Tuesday night wasn’t a complete downer for the Yankees.

Alfonso Soriano went 5-for-5 with his 39th homer and is one dinger away from joining the exclusive 40-40 club.

“I want to see 40 when I hit it,” Soriano said when asked if he cold taste 40 homers.

Soriano singled in the first, homered off Paul Wilson in the third, had a broken-bat single in the fourth, a soft single to left in the seventh and a double in the eighth. It was Soriano’s 48th double. That’s the most two-baggers by a right-handed hitting Yankee since Bob Meusel’s 47 in 1927.
