NFL: Fewell interviews with Titans

The Titans yesterday interviewed Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell for their head coaching vacancy. It was the fourth interview this offseason for Fewell, who previously met with the Broncos, Browns and Panthers.

Mike Mularkey, the Falcons offensive coordinator, also met yesterday with the Titans. Mike Munchak, the Titans offensive line coach, is thought to be the favorite to succeed Jeff Fisher, who was with the Titans for 16 seasons. –Paul Schwartz

* Rams quarterback Sam Bradford won the AP 2010 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award. Bradford guided the Rams from 1-15 in 2009 to a 7-9 mark. . . . Lions tackle Ndamukong Suh won the Defensive Rookie of the Year award.

* Redskins defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth was accused of assault in what police said was a case of road rage in suburban Washington. Haynesworth has not been formally charged in the case.

HOOPS: Love gets All-Star spot

Kevin Love, the NBA’s leading rebounder, was added to the Western Conference roster for the All-Star Game by Commissioner David Stern as the injury replacement for Houston center Yao Ming. Love was arguably the biggest snub when reserves were announced Thursday night.

* In Memphis, the Cavaliers matched the longest single-season losing streak in NBA history, dropping their 23rd straight with a 112-105 loss to the Grizzlies. The Cavs play host to the Trail Blazers tonight.

* In Charlotte, N.C., Dwyane Wade had 22 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, showing no ill effects from a sore back, to lead the Heat past the Bobcats 109-97.

* In Atlanta, Al Horford made two free throws with 0.6 seconds remaining following a flagrant foul by Blake Griffin, giving the Hawks a 101-100 victory over the Clippers.

* In Boston, Jason Kidd made a go-ahead 3-pointer with 2.5 seconds left as the Mavericks beat the Celtics 101-97.

* North Carolina point guard Larry Drew II stunned Tar Heels coaches and teammates when he abruptly left the program.

MLB: Vlad to join Orioles

Free-agent slugger Vladimir Guerrero agreed to a one-year contract with the Orioles, a source said. The agreement reportedly is worth $8 million. The 36-year-old hit .300 with 29 homers and 115 RBIs with the Rangers last season.

* The Cardinals agreed to a minor league contract with 40-year-old outfielder Jim Edmonds that included. . . . Justin Duchscherer signed a one-year contract with the Orioles that guarantees the right-hander $700,000.

* The World Series champion Giants exercised their contract options for general manager Brian Sabean and manager Bruce Bochy through 2012.

NHL: Malkin KO’d but Pens win

In Pittsburgh, the Penguins rallied for a 3-2 win over the Sabres despite again losing star center Evgeni Malkin to injury. Malkin returned to the lineup after missing the previous five games , but he was knocked out of the game after a collision with Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers.
