MLB: Clemens seeks to limit testimony
Roger Clemens is trying to prevent his former Yankees teammates from telling jurors in his upcoming criminal trial that they got PEDs from Clemens’ former trainer. His attorneys argued in a filing yesterday that such evidence could create “guilt by association” in jurors’ minds and asked a judge to block it. They said whether Clemens’ former trainer, Brian McNamee, injected drugs into others like his former teammates Chuck Knoblauch and Mike Stanton has nothing to do with Clemens. McNamee said he gave steroids and HGH to Clemens, but the pitching great denies it. Clemens’ trial on charges of lying during congressional testimony is scheduled to begin July 6.
