KHL says nyet to Barclays

The KHL says two games between Dynamo Moscow and SKA St. Petersburg that had been set for Brooklyn’s new Barclays Center have been moved back to Russia.

Dynamo Moscow and SKA St. Petersburg were supposed to meet in Brooklyn on Jan. 19 and 20. But the league announced Friday they instead will play in St. Petersburg on Jan. 20 and in Moscow two days later.

The KHL said it made the switch because of the NHL lockout and “impassioned pleas by the fan bases of each club to keep these premier, late-season games in Russia.”

Garrigus leads, Tiger 5 back

Robert Garrigus shot a 7-under-par 64 to take a two-stroke lead ahead of Jbe’ Kruger, who upstaged Tiger Woods in their second-round pairing at the CIMB Classic in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Garrigus was at 14-under 128 after two rounds. Kruger had a 64 and was 12 under, two shots clear of Australia’s Greg Chalmers (69) and Troy Matteson. Woods (67) was tied for fifth.

* Sweden’s Peter Hanson shot 8-under 64 to take a two-stroke lead on Rory McIlroy after the second round of the BMW Masters in Shanghai.

* Mark Calcavecchia shot a 5-under 67 to take a two-stroke lead over Kenny Perry in the suspended first round of the Champions Tour’s AT&T Championship in San Antonio.

* Norway’s Suzann Pettersen shot a 7-under 65 to share the second-round lead with South Korea’s Inbee Park in the LPGA Taiwan Championship.

MLB: Bowa chats with Marlins

Former major-league manager Larry Bowa, who was a Yankees third-base coach under Joe Torre, has interviewed for the vacant Marlins manager’s job.

Bowa joins former Marlins catcher Mike Redmond and Reds pitching coach Bryan Price as candidates to succeed the fired Ozzie Guillen.

* The Red Sox named ex-Yankee Torey Lovullo as their bench coach. Lovullo had been new Boston manager John Farrell’s first-base coach in Toronto. … Boston also received permission from the Orioles to talk with ex-Mets pitching coach Rick Peterson, who is Baltimore’s pitching coordinator. … According to ESPN Los Angeles, Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford said he regretted waiting until July to have reconstructive left elbow surgery, but that the pressure of playing in Boston compelled him to play hurt.

No winners for 1995-05 Tour de France races

The 1995-2005 Tour de France races will have no winners attributed to them, world cycling officials announced. Officials also ordered disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong to repay all his prize money.

* In Istanbul, Victoria Azarenka wrapped up the season-ending No. 1 position in the world by beating Li Na 7-6 (4), 6-3 in the WTA Championships.

* Indiana is ranked No. 1 in The Associated Press’ preseason Top 25, a first for the Hoosiers since 1979-80, when they were coached by Bob Knight. Louisville, Kentucky, Ohio State and Michigan round out the Top 5.
