THERE has been this unfounded perception being floated around the Knicks recently that because Latrell Sprewell doesn’t like coming off the bench, he’s not a team player and isn’t interested in winning within the team concept. I say floated because the perception is offered in the form of questions, normally aimed at coach Jeff Van Gundy, to illicit a response.

Van Gundy, inadvertently or not, as allowed the perception to dangle by giving non-committal answers like the one he offered before last night’s game against the Pacers at the Garden….
