The Big East will look into the postgame incident Sunday between St. John’s and Seton Hall, a conference source said.

Seton Hall’s Derrick Gordon had to be carried from the court by teammates after the postgame handshake line in which words were exchanged among several members of each team.

The source said it is unlikely any discipline will be doled out because there were no shoves or punches exchanged. Both teams said there was nothing malicious about the postgame trash talking, just the aftermath of an emotional game, won by Seton Hall, 62-61, on two Isaiah Whitehead free throws with 5.6 seconds left.

“I think that’s why in the NBA, everybody just walks to their locker room,” Seton Hall coach Kevin Willard said. “Sometimes the handshake probably isn’t the greatest idea.”
