Stephen A. Smith is giving “Saturday Night Live” its flowers.

SNL parodied Smith and his ESPN program “First Take” in a sketch this past week.

With Chris Redd as Stephen A. Smith, Kenan Thompson as Michael Irvin and Chloe Fineman as Molly Qerim, debate was indeed embraced.

“Haaaaaa! OMG! This is hilarious,” Smith tweeted. “Especially the parts spoofing Michael Irvin. Hysterical!”

“Smith” thought it was fantastic to be there, “Irvin” disagreed — it was a “delicious privilege to put on this suit.”

Important topics such as whether Tom Brady is exceptional or very exceptional were hashed out.

Fineman sounded particularly similarly to Qerim, while Thompson nailed down Irvin’s enthusiasm.

For whatever reason, this sketch did not make it to air on NBC on Saturday night, but it will live on in perpetuity digitally.
