I really don’t like picking on John Sterling, but he just makes it so darn easy sometimes.

Here is Sterling’s home run call on Hideki Matsui’s three-run blast in the fourth inning of last night’s 12-3 win over the Rangers. (via Deadspin)

Sterling, who calls the game on WCBS 880 AM, had it right in the beginning but then it kind of falls apart. Nice try, I guess.

Also, there are several very good reasons why a home run by the Japanese-born Matsui should not be referred to as an “A-Bomb.”
