Islanders coach Bill Stewart got in hot water with GM Mike Milbury and ownership yesterday over remarks he made following Monday’s 3-1 loss to the Rangers in which the coach said, in part, “Did you see our lineup? Enough said.”

According to sources, Milbury thought the remarks were “inappropriate” – at once slighting the players left on the post-firesale roster and ownership.

It bothered Milbury so much he faxed a copy of the Post’s story entitled “Stew rips Isles’ talent” to the coach’s hotel room in Fort Lauderdale with a note condemning the statements….
