BINGHAMTON — New York City won’t be taking home any hardware from Binghamton, N.Y. this year, but that doesn’t mean the final day of the STOP-DWI Holiday Classic isn’t important to Thomas Jefferson and Holy Cross.

Thursday is a chance for both to head home happy with a winning record and go into the new year on a positive note.

Holy Cross, which evening its record to 1-1 with a 50-45 victory over New Rochelle on Wednesday, is up first, facing Mesa (Ariz.) and impressive Arizona State-bound point guard Jahii Carson. In two games, the slick senior has scored 73 points. The Knights, obviously, will have their hands full in the fifth-place game at 11:15 a.m.

Thomas Jefferson draws The John Carroll School (Md.) at 1 p.m. The Orange Wave fell to Campbell, 72-68, after topping Mesa on the first day.
